Easter Weekend In Essex

The Easter Weekend is finally upon us and for our guests who’ve taken advantage of our fantastic bank holiday offer, we thought we’d give you the ultimate guide to what’s on in Essex this Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

This Easter Sunday, Hanningfield Reservoir Visitor Centre will be hosting a fantastic Easter Eggstravaganza that’s ideal for all the family, especially those who happen to love wildlife. Children and adults alike will be able to follow a trail around the reservoir with pond dipping and even mini beast hunting too before returning to the centre where you’ll be able to collect your prize. You’ll also get the opportunity to create Easter themed crafts to take away as a fabulous Easter gift for the grandparents.

If you’re looking for something a little more adult however then why not head on over to Priory Park in Southend, just a short car ride away where the Southend Bandstand will be holding a special Easter Sunday session of Music in the Park. Along with the popular brass band music, you’ll also get to enjoy the freedom of your own picnics so bring a jacket and some fold up chairs and prepare for an upbeat Easter Sunday in Southend’s beautiful landscapes.

If it’s a knight in shining armour you’re after this Easter then why not take a look at some of the Medieval Siege and Fair that’s taking place at Hedingham Castle. Not only will you experience the times of nearly a thousand years back but you’ll also get to enjoy archery, birds of prey and even the giant catapult they’ve promised to have in action. Running until Easter Monday, this is guaranteed to be an extra fun day for all the family.

For some, tradition is a must so the Boreham Easter Egg Trail is the ideal event. Held from 10am until 4pm Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, it costs just £3 and leads you on a wonderful hunt around the delightful village of Boreham. Solve all of the clues and you can collect your Easter Egg next to St Andrew’s Church.

If that’s not enough you’ve also got our award-winning kitchen here at Marygreen Manor that promises to fill your tummies with a delicious selection of exquisitely prepared meals from our A La Carte Menu along with the very best traditional afternoon tea in Essex.

With all these events and more, virtually on our doorstep, your Easter weekend really can be a memorable one, made all the more special by spending it here at The Marygreen Manor.
