All Four Corners Of The Globe

The European flag

We meet people from all over Europe and more

Whether you’re a hotel in New York, Paris, London or our own home county of Essex, different nationalities will always cross the threshold and Marygreen Manor Hotel and Restaurant is no exception. From attractions so close by such as Lee Valley White Water Rafting, Essex’s National Trust and even the world famous Tour De France 2014 virtually passing through our living rooms in July it’s fair to say people from all four corners of the globe have visited. As some businesses and hotels struggle with the language barrier, we intend to not just thrive but excel when it comes to communications with our clientele, just as we have been for years.

Our secret lies in not just our high-end service and facilities but our continual quest for diversity amongst our staff. Our a la carte restaurant alone is home to a countless number of qualified internationals from Pepe the Spanish Pastry Chef to Christian the French Chef De Rang and with influences from so many different cultures it’s no wonder our award winning restaurant has the reputation it does. At Marygreen we’re proud to have Tanja our German Office Manager along with Annette and Cyril our German and French Assistant Managers dealing with the front of house and helping to greet guests as soon they step into our reception. From Welsh Restaurant Managers and Moroccan Head Chefs to African Breakfast Chefs named Marlon, Marygreen really couldn’t be more varied when it comes to staff.

David Lee our Hotel Manager, born and bred in Leyton, which was once itself part of Essex County said, “Between all of our members of staff, we cover a wide range of cultures and race, with some even coming from Poland, Turkey and the Philippines. It’s fantastic because not only do they bring different ideas and ways of doing things but no matter where a guest comes from we have someone to help communicate and make their stay as smooth and pleasant as possible. It’s particularly good at the minute because there’s a lot of friendly rivalry with the World Cup happening too.” Don’t just take David’s word for it though, find out for yourself and see why it’s not just our food that will take you on a trip around the world before you’ve even left the wonderful county of Essex.
