The Brentwood Festival / V Festival Chelmsford

With spring finally here, it’s time to dust off those flip flops and start thinking about our summer schedules, and nothing screams summer more than Essex Festivals. With what’s supposed to be a four month summer predicted ahead of us, we’re in for a treat as far as weather’s concerned this year, so surely there isn’t anything better than a nice cold cider whilst dancing to our favourite artists.

In May we have the We Are Festival held in Upminster, where they’ll be offering a line up with a whole mix of music from electro house, trance to heavy house, the festival to go to for those who like the beat and dancing well into the early hours. Just like last year it’ll be held in the Airfield of Dreams, Damyn’s Hall and will no doubt be a sell-out success once more.

In July we have the ever popular Brentwood Festival, drawing in what feels like the entire town’s population as well as thousands and thousands from outside of Brentwood and the rest of Essex, it features Essex Food, Essex Music and Beer and is all in support of Hopefield Animal Sanctuary. A massively popular festival, brought back every year because of its huge success each and every time.

One festival that needs absolutely no introduction is V festival Chelmsford, the absolute cream of the crop, this year in August. Featuring the likes of Justin Timberlake and The Killers, it’ll no doubt pull in a huge crowd, and if that’s not enough, support acts such as Example will be whipping them all up into a frenzy during the day. With such high calibre artists they’ll be people screaming for tickets and as it does every year, Hylands Park will be jam packed, leaving you little room to manoeuvre, even in your own tent.

The festivals on offer are amazing and for most, are considered what make our great Essex summer great, and just as you have to get in early to get tickets for the festivals, so too should you get in early when it comes to booking somewhere to stay. For some, camping is an option, if you want to get covered in mud all weekend, but for the less ‘outdoorsy’ festival goer, a nice hotel is much more preferable, and what better place to stay than the Marygreen Manor Hotel Essex.

Situated in quite possibly the very best location, with its incredibly close links to the M25 and A12, whether you’re staying in Brentwood for your fun or venturing out towards Chelmsford, Upminster or even further into the City to see what London has to offer, you couldn’t possibly find a better spot to get you to and from your festival with ease. With ample parking, this Essex Hotel and Restaurant is perfect for festival goers. With warm dry rooms available too, it couldn’t be further from the mud covered red and yellow camp sites you’ve perhaps been used to.

Usually just the offer of Wifi, charging points for phones and a clean piping hot shower is enough to show anyone why it’s a good reason to stay, but with four different types of rooms offering picturesque garden views along with spacious apartments, Marygreen Manor Hotel has absolutely everything you could need to make the most of your festival weekend. Add on top of this an award winning restaurant, with a divine A La Carte menu and a wine list to match; you’ll be hard pushed to find anything quite like it. And with rumours of artists picking it as their place to stay in previous years, you never know, you might just bring the festival home with you.
